Abstract
In the context of environmental degradation and resource shortage, the evaluation of urban vulnerability is of great significance to improve the quality of urbanization. As the city is a resource-ecological environment-economy-society coupled system, urban vulnerability index system needs to be researched and analyzed from four following aspects, including resource vulnerability, economic vulnerability, social vulnerability and ecological vulnerability. As a typical representative of a mountainous city, Chongqing has complex terrain conditions and more fragile ecological environment. Therefore, this paper uses principal component analysis and analytic hierarchy process to determine the index system and constructs a vulnerability evaluation model by studying the vulnerability evaluation of Chongqing city, and evaluates the urban vulnerability of 38 districts and counties in Chongqing by a comprehensive index model and GIS analysis from three time sections (2010, 2015, 2020). Further, this study offers a few suggestions to cope with urban vulnerability in Chongqing.
