Abstract
As important instrumentality and "mega project" of Chengdu Park City construction, Tianfu Greenway plays the media and catalyst role in urban spatial organization and urban construction. Based on the status of relevant planning participants of Tianfu Greenway, using the research method of semi-structured interview, this paper takes the planning and construction practice of Tianfu Greenway in Chengdu as the empirical object, analyzes and summarizes it's construction concept and practical characteristics, and discusses the impact of Tianfu Greenway construction on the "quality improvement" of China's mega cities in the new era. This paper also aims to enrich and deepen the application of Landscape Urbanism in Chinese cities. The findings are as follows: (1) The construction concept of “Four States" Fusion, which integrates Form, Ecology, Industry and Culture, directly faces the spatial polarization crisis of mega city development, and provides a useful exploration for building an open and balanced urban public space and creating a more fair and high-quality life. (2) The construction practice of Tianfu Greenway in the whole region properly deduces and responds to the landscape urbanism theory, and shows the new height of China's spatial governance in the face of contemporary mega cities.
