Abstract
Urban green space is an important component of territorial spatial planning in all areas and all elements, which is an important guarantee for urban sustainable development. At present, there are many problems in urban green space, such as diversity, poor systematization, insufficient ecological service capacity and too much interference from human activities. How to deal with the relationship between urban and natural space and how to promote the integration and transformation of urban green space so as to realize the connection with the national spatial planning are the important issues in the current national spatial planning. The Landscape Processism advocates taking natural process as the core, explores the natural process and operation mechanism contained in the site by fully inspecting and analyzing the current situation of the site, so as to seek an effective way to introduce the natural process into the design. The landscape built under this concept is low-maintenance and sustainable, which responds to the dynamic change of landscape in time and space, and reflects the transience of life and the possibility of its own transformation. The traditional ecological wisdom of farming in Chinese context is the result of long-term adaptation between man and nature, and also the localization of landscape processism in China. This study is to inherit the ecological experience of ancient Chinese in urban construction and apply landscape process to the planning of green space in contemporary cities. Then, taking Chengdu 2024 International Horticultural Exposition Park General Plan as an example, the paper explores how to integrate urban events and urban functions into the landscape succession process, and finally realize the site function transformation and green space reconstruction. The site of Chengdu 2024 International Horticultural Exposition has distinct characteristics of agricultural base in western Sichuan. Therefore, the core concept of the design emphasizes the maximum respect for the original landscape base, the continuation of the ecological wisdom of local low-cost irrigation, and the combination of the Landscape Processism and local agriculture to realize the interpretation and translation of traditional ecological characteristics. The pastoral landscape is integrated into the innovative construction of the city in the design. With the help of three major strategies to maintain the continuity of landscape and ecosystem before, during and after the expo, the plan strives to maintain the balance between the past and the future, between nature and the city in the whole practice process, and finally connect with the green space of other cities.Considering of planning, construction and subsequent utilization, the plan not only pays attention to the Expo itself, but also pays great attention to the "landscape process" in urban development. It emphasizes the dissolution of the park boundary driven by nature, seamlessly connecting with the urban green space, and ultimately promotes the integration and interaction of the park and the city, realizing multiple functions, joint operation, and continuous transformation.
